Problem
- Optimization of oil flow in gear boxes during accelerated and turn movements
- Evaluation of technical solutions against intake of air through oil filters
Method
- Construction of a test stand for simulation of accelerated movement
- Carriage with gear box (housing made of acrylate glass) moving on rails (length around 50 m)
- Pre-loading of the carriage and acceleration with bungee wires
- Carriage equipped with acceleration sensor, 2 video cameras and lighting equipment
- Test stand simulates turn movements, If the gear box is mounted in an angle to the moving direction
Results
- Evaluation of an optimized design of the housing (ribs etc.)
- Optimization of form and location of the oil filter
